IFPA -
International Fitness & Physique Association
The IFPA was founded in 2005 as a professional level
bodybuilding & figure organization. Founding members
were
Matt Shepley,
Jack LaRue and Gregory Conner. The IFPA operated
under a five-year drug-free guideline and used
polygraph and urinalysis testing at its shows. In
2007 the IFPA Yorton Cup was established as the
federation's top title. It was named to honor the
Father of Natural Bodybuilding,
Chet Yorton.
Amateur
affiliates were in the USA from the beginning.
Ghana, Uganda and Nigeria became affiliate countries
in 2006. Great Britain became an affiliated country
in 2008.
